Theremins

The Theremin is one of the earliest electronic musical instruments. It was also the first musical instrument to be played without actually being touched, using instead, two metal antennas controlling volume and pitch frequencies which sense the position of the player's hands as they move around them. The electric signals are then amplified and sent to a loudspeaker.

The Theremin takes its name from its Russian inventor Léon Theremin.
